    Position Overview:

    The Human Resources Generalist is a developmental role that provides support to the Senior HR Manager, HR Director and HR Team. This person would perform human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, investigations, New Hire Orientation, and HR policy implementation.

    Specific Responsibilities May Include:

    • Partners with Management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, employment laws, standards and government regulations to the floor
    • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement
    • Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment/discrimination allegations 
    • Counsels employees on work related matters
    • Handles employee separations
    • Reviews and approves corrective counseling
    • Conducts investigations of inappropriate conduct, harassment and discrimination claims 
    • Facilitates or provides HR policies training (including new-hire orientation) to the workforce
    • Performs related duties as assigned

    Required Experience, Skills & Competencies:

    • 2+ years of human resources experience
    • 2+ years of call-center experience
    • 1+ years of supervisory experience
    • Flexible schedule availability
    • Basic understanding of Human Resource principles
    • Ability to use critical thinking to solve HR related problems
    • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
    • Ability to maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite
    • Strong communication skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills

    Preferred Experience, Skills & Competencies:

    • 1 year Human Resource experience or related profession
    • 1 year of TELUS leadership experience
    • Knowledge of employment laws or practices
    • Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college
